INTRODUCTION






st george's college aruvithura affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University was established in the year 1965. The College is reaccredited by NAAC with 'A' grade and has distinguished itself for its high academic standards, discipline and achievements in sports and games.
It is situated on the banks of river Meenachil. Now a first grade college it is managed and owned by St.George’s Forane church.The college has come into lime light due to its innovative scheme on community linkage , establishing a community telecasting centre at the college one of its first kind in India.
Named after the patron saint of the local catholic parish, the college was started in the year 1965 under the patronage of Rt. Rev.Dr.Sebastian Vayalil , the first Bishop of Palai. Very Rev. Thomas Manakkatt the then vicar of St.George Forane Church Aruvithura played a crucial role in the founding of the college. For more than two decades Mar Joseph Pallickaparampil the Bishop of palai was the patron. Mar Joseph Kallarangatt is the present patron of the college.



Hostels
Hostel facilities are available at the college for girl students. .Besides two hostels near the college itself there is also a working women’s hostel and a hostel run by FC sisters.
