INTRODUCTION





Union Christian College , Aluva Established in the year 1921 as a very prestigious institute of higher education in Kerala , South India .The college is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University and is one of the top colleges in Kerala. Blessed with an ideally located place on the banks of river Periyar , this institution has come miles and is on the paths of scaling new heights.
The success story of U C college is scribbled in the never ending dedication of its teachers and the efforts of a number of its brilliant students. The college is always known for its academic excellence and its social commitment is very famous ,This institution is managed by an association of members drawn from the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, the Malankara Marthoma Church, the Church of South India and the Inter Church Fellowship of the College



The history of the college is spoken by generations of enthusiastic students and teachers and the college is always ranked among the major institutions of academic and social excellence.



The origin and growth of the UC college was mainly on Indian initiative and resources, though the college from the beginning entertained overseas scholars as co-workers.. The ecumenical identity of the college carried a strong secular dimension as well. The faculty of the early years were a balanced mix of Christian and non-Christian members.
